A few doors down from childhood home, some neighbors owned a huge trampoline that they kept in the backyard. It was a very smart investment for their large family of six kids, and it was a wise one because it enabled the mother to keep an eye on her children while they played with friends. That’s stuff I wouldn’t realize until later but as a child, that trampoline was one of the most liberating and exhausting experiences I recall. I’d spend all day on that sucker and go home too tired to act crazy. I would eat, bathe, and go to bed without a single protest.

I want one of those now. I need a trampoline.
