Louis Vuitton: A Journey

October 13, 2009

I like this ad campaign for some reason, especially the print ad in Forbes with Sally Ride, Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell. When I figure out why, I’ll share. And my answer is: I believe the journey creates the person. (You’ll read the question in the video.)

As Gap celebrates its 40th birthday, I celebrate the fact that their jeans are once again their priority. Over the years I’ve spent a small fortune in Gap stores because their denim always fit my body type. However, they took a turn for the tiny and began selling jeans and clothing fit for sub-zero sized chicas with no hips or fannies. Gap 1969 is timeless and sustainable luxury. Go HERE to look at the collection.  (I have it on good authority that the Perfect Boot is absolutely perfect for grown up women with curves.) Scroll down to watch a video introduction to the line.

Introducing Gap 1969 America’s Best Fitting Premium Jeans Collection

I love the Gap Born to Fit Campaign. So smart and fresh. Of course, the most obvious appeal of this campaign is that it features people talking about doing what they believe they were born to do. I’m a publicist and PR practitioner who is doing what I believe I was born to do. My motto? ‘I was born to do this…’ And I have the evidence: Little loud girl, tattletale, family’s information central, a key influencer, a gossip girl, a writer, a know-it-all, a people connector, resourceful… Yep, I was born to do this.

Gap Born to Fit is enlisting the assistance of everyday people like me and you to create home videos of us discussing what exactly it is we were born to do. You can go to Facebook (HERE) to view videos and learn more about the campaign. And visit Gap.com to learn more about their Gap 1969 & America’s Best Fitting Premium Jeans collection. (If you’re fluffy, like me, you’ll be so happy that the Gap is making clothes – again – for real women’s bodies. Wooo hooo!
